Description

Manuel "Manny" Calavera is a travel agent (or reaper) at the Department of Death (DOD). As penance for his sins, he can't simply leave the Land of the Dead and must work as a salesman. Appearance: he is a skeleton with an elongated skull and three triangular marks on his forehead, round circular holes for eyes, and his teeth showing, short height and legs. Speaks with a Latin accent and occasionally using Spanish expressions. He wears a blue business suit with a red tie. He also wears an all black grim reaper robe, and uses stilts to appear taller when using the robe. Personality: sarcastic, quick-witted; initially pessimistic but grows more optimistic and even heroic as the story goes on; competitive and constantly comparing himself to his co-workers, admitting to working hard to get in a better position if he worked in a ship; likes playing solitaire and messing with the hole puncher; presumably Mexican-American; his competitiveness sometimes causes him to ignore others' need, but he later becomes more sensitive to trapped souls and chooses to help them. ENTP. Background: Pre-game: not much is known about his past, probably an "average bum" and couldn't buy a package to the Ninth Underworld; during the Day of the Dead, he admits that no one cares to visit him. Year 1, starts out in El Marrow city working at DOD. At his office, he offers several packages, including a sports car, cruise, and tickets to the top of the line Number Nine express train (makes the travel in 4 minutes instead of years); all for the 4 Year Journey of the Soul to the Underworld, depending on the client's past live. He looks up his client's records in his computer to check for eligibility. If not elegible, the clients get the excelsior line, which is just a walking cane with a compass. Depending on the quality of the "sale" Manny gets a commission to which gets him closer to leaving DOD; unfortunately, he hasn't been getting good clients recently. He carries a retractable grim reaper scythe. Doesn't wear a hat nor glasses.
